Customer Review: Works, but has flaws

This dehydrator gets the job done, but it doesn't do an even job and it is slow. Also, the manual that comes with it is poor, not giving useful instructions for drying times. You will need experience in order to know when your food is "done."
But it will produce usable results. I had no problems with melting trays (though one did break on me). It is difficult to clean, since any drips tend to drop down into the electrical part of the unit, which does not come apart for cleaning.
Overall, I would recommend this as an introductory unit - if you are unsure if dehydrating is something you'd get into, this is an inexpensive way to get started.
