Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Deni 14100 Electric Food Slicer ProCustomer Review: Works Realy Good On All Types Of Meats Summary: 4 Stars
Cuts wafer thin slices on rare beef, pork and smoked turkey. The speed control is great for the rare beef so you don't get a gooey mess.
Called Deni Support to get a second blade as backup, but was assured that it would not be necessary. None the less I am ordering one just in case I drop it or something happens to it. The price with shipping is less than fifteen dollars.
The unit cleans easily. It is high profile fully assembled, but easily comes apart for compact storage.
Only reason that I don't give a Five Star rating is that I have not cut cheese or veggies and the thickness gauge is off and I can not get it to register Zero when the blade is fully retracted. The other issue is that the suction cup on the base, which are great for stability, come out of their seats when the unit is lifted form the counter top.

* Directions A smaller version of the local deli counter's slicer, this electric unit is a huge money-saver for families who go through pounds of cold cuts per week or who do a lot of entertaining. With this home slicer, households can purchase deli meats and cheeses in bulk, which is less expensive, and cut slices as needed for sandwiches or serving platters, which prolongs the freshness of the food. The slicer also cuts boneless roasts into uniform slices; shreds cabbage for cole slaw; and slices potatoes for chips, zucchini and carrots for vegetable trays, and delicate vegetables, such as tomatoes, without crushing them. The slicer's serrated blade is made in Germany of durable stainless-steel that is precision-ground to produce precise slices without shredding meats and cheeses. A knob adjusts the slicing thickness up to 3/4 inch for wedges of cheese or pineapple for cubing and as thin as 1/4 inch for wafer-thin slivers of ham, cheese, bread, or fruit for a party platter. A variable speed dial also turns up to 120 rpms when slicing hard foods and goes as slow as 60 rpms when softer foods are on the slicing platform. Safety features on this slicer include suctioned feet that keep the unit from moving during slicing and a plastic pusher that presses firmly into food and prevents it from sliding off the platform. The food slicer Pro also has a childproof lock by the power button that must be depressed in order for the unit to operate. For convenience, the electric slicer is angled at about 10 degrees so slices naturally fall below into the slide-out storage tray. A cutting board at the end of the slicer is available for additional dicing or trimming. The blade removes easily for cleaning and should be washed by hand with warm water and soap. This electric slicer is warranted for one year from the date of purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde
