I just purchased the Deni 1200 JarVac and if I could give it 10 Stars I would. I have used the JarVac just a few days and I'm very impressed with this unit. I resealed Marinara sauce in the orginal bottle. I have thrown away so much lettuce and salad mix in the past due to not using it fast enough before it turned brown, I opened a new package, took out what I needed, put the rest of the bag in a bowl and resealed it with my new JarVac. I'm happy to say I expect to save a bundle of money by using the JarVac. I also have a food saver and use it also to reseal food, cheese, etc. It is well worth the money!

USE BOTTLE SAVER TO VACUUM SEAL WINE, GOURMET COOKING OILS, DRESSINGS AND OTHER LIQUIDS.Ensure that purchased bottled goods or homemade sauces and condiments don't go to waste with this innovative patented vacuum packaging system designed specifically for sealing jars. The Deni JarVac sucks oxygen, which is a primary cause of bacteria growth and food spoilage, out of the food's storage container as it creates an airtight seal around the lid's rim. Foods are preserved for up to five times longer than if stored in a traditional plastic or glass leftover container.
The JarVac works on Mason jars or original store-bought glass containers, as long as there is a rubber gasket under the lid, and is efficient for sealing a variety of foods from pasta sauce to soup to pickles. The jar to be sealed rests on the flip-down sealing platform with its lid tightly screwed on, and the dome goes over the jar. Turning on the power begins the vacuum process, which usually lasts for approximately 15 seconds. The JarVac automatically shuts off when sealing is complete and a concave lid offers further indication that the vacuum process was successful.
The JarVac comes with several accessories to expand its usefulness. A bottle saver and accompanying hose seal half-finished bottles of wine, cooking oils, and salad dressings. In addition, the system comes with three universal lids in 4-, 7-, and 10-inch sizes that, when used with the hose, seal leftovers, salads, and soups or quickly marinate meats in various-sized glass bowls.
Although this vacuum packaging process may be used to seal homemade jam and jelly jars, it is not a replacement method for canning. The JarVac is not safe to use on bottles made out of plastic, aluminum, crystal, or thin glass as they may collapse within the powerful vacuum. In addition, the JarVac is not recommended for sealing carbonated beverages, such as champagne or soda, as it removes the bubbles, leaving a flat-tasting beverage.
